MISSION
To improve public safety by restoring former offenders to productive roles in society through training, counseling and education programs that remove the barriers to meaningful employment and that teach skills for today's workforce.

  Ted and Beth Caldwell

CEi is dedicated to a charity that doesn't find an abundance of open checkbooks in a world with many needs. However, recidivism hurts the entire community, and CEi's ongoing success in turning former offenders into productive citizens affords a major benefit to our community.

Support for CEi, most people think, should be a government expense. To some degree, and with tenuous reliability, it is. In addition, CEi seeks to fulfill much of its own funding needs through CEi Works, an in-house employee-leasing agency. However, a major portion of their revenue comes from our community, through gifts, and the growing popularity of the annual event, Bella Sera.

Beth and I have supported CEi for years because they take on some of the toughest problems in our community. The board and staff provide invaluable services with minimal resources and little recognition.
