The Brennan Society for Sustaining Gifts is a fellowship of philanthropists whose whose generosity helps us routinely achieve our mission of public safety by restoring former offenders to productive roles in their families and our community.
Named for Justice and Mrs. William J. Brennan, who gave us our first major gift, the Brennan Society encourages ongoing support from key benefactors and permits us to acknowledge our gratitude for their personal commitment to our mission.
Justice and Mrs. Brennan learned about CEi through their longtime acquaintance with the family of Timothy Dempsey, the organization’s founding CEO. The Brennans' defining commitment in both their public and private lives was to the voiceless and the suffering.
Their hope that a measure of peace and joy might somehow become their lot matches perfectly the mission of Chattanooga Endeavors, an enterprise which both Justice Brennan and his wife Mary, applauded. The Brennans' generosity made it possible to expand Chattanooga Endeavors from a small half-way house helping just a few dozen people a year to a training program that last year, served 250 men and women.
